If you have a Mini-DV (tape) camcorder ....
The DV camcorder, you need a FireWire (IEEE 1394) to download video, PC probably will not come with a FireWire port, so you should buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly again) It's do not come with a FireWire port, the camcorder does not come with a FireWire cable, you must also buy a cable. The camcorder does not work with a USB cable that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder to come. Make sure the camera is in playback mode.
The small print in the instructions refers to FireWire (IEEE 1394).
